JOB SUMMARY:

This is a senior management position with primary responsibilities for the accounting and financial reporting of Family Guardian Insurance Company, which includes the major divisions of the company: Home Service, Financial Services, and the Group Life & Health Division.

The position includes management of accounting operations, development and monitoring of financial controls, regulatory reporting, financial reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and management of the external audit.

The role also includes the development of financial and risk mitigation strategies as well as communicating to and collaborating with key stakeholders within and outside the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of all accounting, treasury, and financial reporting functions for Family Guardian Insurance Company.  
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for Family Guardian Insurance Company, within established deadlines, for distribution to management.
  • Oversee the external audit process and preparation of annual audited financial statements with accompanying notes in accordance with International Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards for Family Guardian Insurance Company Limited.
  • Ensure that the company is in compliance with all regulatory requirements including the review of all regulatory filings for Family Guardian Insurance Company in accordance with the regulatory deadlines.
  • Preparation of the Family Guardian Insurance budget, including forecast and analysis to ensure the enforcement of measures for monitoring the budget.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • CPA or ACCA
  • 5+ years of management experience in accounting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills​
